As a part of our RE·Imagine blog, we want to highlight the wonderful people who we work with, and who make the work possible. Facilitator of the Month is a series dedicated to shine light on all of our per diem staff and supporters, and the work that they do both inside and outside of RE·Center.

Meet, Bulaong Ramiz-Hall, per diem facilitator, diversity educator, and full-time mother. Bulaong first joined the RE·Center staff in 2015, through meeting Derek Hall, one of our staff members and now Bulaong’s husband, and learning there was an opportunity to facilitate. Since then, Bulaong continues to facilitate conversations on race, equity, and systemic oppression, help us partner with different organizations and schools, and be a very active member of the Hartford community.

Bulaong first got involved in racial equity and social justice work in high school through a diversity club called United Through Differences. She was learning constantly through high school workshops, conferences, and clubs in college as well.

Bulaong is currently transitioning into a position as Director of the Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity at the University of Kansas. And in her free time, she enjoys making pottery, hanging out with her baby, Kimaya, and dogs, Charli and Capone, and going out with her friends to Happy Hour. Bulaong has seen every Grey’s Anatomy episode and is a fanatic of Shandaland.

RE·Imagine:

In the spirit of reimagining, we asked Bulaong what she’s reimagining in the world: “I am reimagining what family, love, and partnership is like.”

We at RE·Center are beyond grateful to have passionate and relational people like Bulaong on our team and look forward to our evolving relationship with her.
